Workshop
FAQs (Please read before booking…)
Where do workshops take place?
Claire is no longer in an offsite studio, so she will be bringing her workshop to you! Workshops will take place in the home of whoever is hosting.
She’ll be driving to the workshop from Akron, OH. She prefers to drive only to locations within a 50 miles radius from Akron. If you’re over 50 miles away, please don’t let this discourage you from sending an e-mail inquiry. Exceptions can be made under her discretion.
How far out does a workshop need to be scheduled?
Claire strongly prefers to book workshops at least three weeks in advance.
How long does a workshop last?
Workshops last between two and three hours.
How many people can be at a workshop?
Workshops can have 1 person or as many as 6 or 7 people. Please consider how your space can comfortably accommodate the number of people you’re desiring to have in attendance.
Do I need to provide anything for the workshop?
We will need a spacious room to have the workshop. Having quick access to a sink is an important factor to consider, because we need to rinse off each paper after it’s been marbled. We also will need a place to lay out our papers to dry flat. Because drying racks aren’t a normal feature of most homes, Claire provides vinyl tablecloths for the purpose of drying papers.
What does a workshop look like?
Claire will show up to the hosting location 45 minutes - 1 hour in advance (for larger parties) to set up. All materials including paper, paint, trays, and tablecloths for drying are provided. Each participant will have a tray of their own and will marble their own papers. Workshops begin with demonstrations and an explanation of the marbling process.
Can I take my papers home immediately after the workshop?
Marbled papers can’t be stacked on top of each other or transported in any way when they’re wet. They usually take hours to dry (overnight). Because of this, it is highly advisable that the papers are allowed to dry on the tablecloths overnight, potentially longer depending on humidity conditions. It is the host’s responsibility to allocate papers to each participant after the workshop. To make sure papers are going to the correct participant, Claire has each person initial their papers on the back before marbling.
Can I book Claire as a guest for my school, library, or similar venue?
Absolutely! Claire loves to do marbling as a guest teacher.

Testimonials
“What fun! Claire shared her expert teaching skills and detailed instructions for a gathering of friends at my home. She brought everything needed, including paper towels and her own trash can! It was inspiring to watch her demonstrate the process and learn about the different creative possibilities. We could work at our own relaxed pace. It was a meditative, yet energizing experience as the magic blossomed. Highly recommended!”
